Le Pain Quotidien means the daily bread. And to us, that means everything. It’s much more than mere sustenance; it’s a way of life. As our loaves emerge from the ovens, warm and fragrant, friends gather around our communal tables to share in the time-honored tradition of breaking bread.
The hum of conversation fills the air, jam is passed around the table, and, ever so gracefully, time slows.
Pariisin matkalla halusin käydä ehdottomasti insta-kuvistakin tutussa
Le Pain Quotidien ketjun kahvilassa. Olin nähnyt niin monia herkullisia kuvia, joten oli päästävä paikka itsekin kokemaan. Suuntasinkin aloittamaan lauantai päivän Le Pain Quotidien aamiaisella.
Le Pain Quotidien kahviloita löytyy Pariisista useampia. Menin lähimpänä hotelliani olevaan:
Le Pain Quotidien - Varenne. Se sijaitsee Pariisin 7. alueella, lähellä Saint-Germain-des-Prés kaupunginosaa. Varenne on muuten Pariisin ainoa Le Pain Quotidien kahvila Seine-joen vasemmalla puolella. Muut ovat joen pohjoispuolella eli oikealla rannalla.
//When I was in Paris I wanted definitely visit Le Pain Quotidien chain coffee shop. The place is familiar to many, at least from Instagram images. I started my Saturday in Paris with a delicious breakfast.
The chain has several locations in Paris. I went to closest to my hotel: Le Pain Quotidien - Varenne. It is located in Paris 7th arrondissement, near the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. By the way, Varenne is the only Le Pain Quotidien cafe on the left side of Seine River in Paris (the left bank of the river). Others are on the north side of the river which is called the right bank of the river.
Alunperin kahvilaketju on lähtöisin Brysselistä, Belgiasta. Nykyään se on kansainvälinen ketju. Le Pain Quotidien leipomo-ravintoloita löytyy useasta maasta, mm. Iso-Britannia, Yhdysvallat, Brasilia, Japani jne. Kaikkiaan 17 eri maassa.
Yhteinen teema kaikissa Le Pain Quotidien paikoissa on pitkä, puinen "yhteisöllinen pöytä", jonka ääressä tarjoillaan päivän leipä. (Le pain quotidien on ranskaa - suomeksi päivän leipä). Tarjolla on siis tuoretta leipää, erilaisia leivonnaisia, kahvijuomia. Sekä maittavia avokadoleipiä, granolakulhoa ym. luomutuotteita. Raikkaita, terveellisiä sesongin makuja.

The common theme in all Le Pain Quotidien locations is a long, wooden "communal table", where is served the bread of the day. (Le Pain Quotidien is French - in English day bread). The menu features fresh bread, a variety of pastries, coffee drinks. As well as tasty avocado toast, granola bowl, etc. organic products. Fresh, wholesome flavors of the season.
Ihanan kotoisa, tunnelmallinen paikka. Kahvi tuoksuu, puheensorina täyttää tilan. Suloisia hillopurkkeja, erilaisia suklaakastikkeita, rapeaa leipää ja täyteläistä tuoremehua. Aamiaiseni Le Pain Quotidiessa. Kaikki näytti pöydässä niin hyvältä ja maistui tosi herkulliselta. En tiedä olenko syönyt herkullisempaa aamiaista. Ja vieläpä terveellistä :-) Lokaatiokin oli aika huippu, terassilla tähyillen Pariisin kadun menoa ja ihmisiä.
Aamiaispöydästäni löytyi: Kahvi, croissant, leipää, tuoremehua, hedelmäsalaatti. Croisantin ja leivän päälle sai laittaa mitä herkullisempia hilloja- ja kastikkeita. Niitä lainattiin ja vaihdettiin myös naapuri pöytien kanssa :-) Näillä eväin sai mitä parhaimman päivän aloituksen ja jaksoi lähteä kiertelemään Pariisin katuja!
//Wonderfully cozy, atmospheric place. Coffee smells, chatter fills the room. Sweet jam jars, various types of chocolate sauces, crispy bread and luscious orange juice. Breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien. Everything looked so good at the table and tasted so delicious. I don't know if I'm ever eaten a better breakfast! And even healthy :-) Location was also very great, on the terrace watching the street and people go by.
My breakfast included: Coffee, croissant, bread, apple juice, fruit salad. It was allowed to put many delicious jams and sauces on top of the croissant and bread. These borrowed from a neighboring table also :-) This was the best start of the day, before stroll the streets of Paris!
Listalta olisin voinut maistaa lähes kaikkea. Toivottavasti pääsenkin pian seuraavilla matkoilla testaamaan muitakin heidän annoksia! Aamiaisen lisäksi on tarjolla brunssia, lounasta, salaatteja jne. Ravintolan yhteydessä toimii myös leipomo. Voikin käydä vaikka ostamassa leivät mukaan ja mennä piknikille puistoon :-)
Jatkossa aion ehdottomasti käydä Le Pain Quotidiessa matkoillani, jos vaan kohteesta sellainen löytyy! Saapuisikohan ketju joskus vielä tänne Pohjolaankin? ;-) Oletko käynyt Le Pain Quotidiessa jossakin? Mitä pidit?
//I could have tried almost anything from the menu. Hopefully, soon I can test their other dishes, maybe my next trips! In addition to breakfast, there is brunch, lunch, salads and so on. There is also bakery in the restaurant. It would be also great idea, go to buy some bread or baguette. And then go for a picnic to the park.
In the future, I will definitely visit Le Pain Quotidien on my travels, If there is any. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Le Pain Quotidien would come here to Finland some day! Have you visit Le Pain Quotidien somewhere? What did you like?
